The Building Project

Driven in an effort to shield themselves from the lucrative obscenities of today's music industry, Seattle-notable emcees Dume41, Khingz, King Khazm and Specs One embark on a collaborative effort that is beginning to emerge from the Hip Hop underground. This new alliance, known as The Building Project is set to release it's debut album entitled "Moving Pictures" this coming June 19th on the Fresh Chopped Beats / MADK Productions label.

"Moving Pictures" demonstrates a range of lyricism with aspiring messages with songs like 'Kings' that affirms self-worth in Black youth through the examination of the great lineage of the ancestors; and 'Heros' that pays tribute to a few influential people in history. The album resonates heavy with Boom-Bap influenced rhythms and cinematic melodies provided by producers RokSoulo, Showbot and others, along with turntablists Gumbeaux, Showbot and Able.

The album releases Juneteenth, or Liberation Day and will be available online at CDBaby, Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody and landmark Hip-Hop specialty stores throughout the country. The Seattle release party takes place in conjunction with Khingz's solo album release, Satuday, June 20th at Chop Suey, 1325 E. Madison (14th & Madison) in Capitol Hill. Performances feature The Physics, Yirim Seck, and DJ Daps1. Hosted by Spaceman. $10adv./$12dos. 8pm / All-ages / Bar w/ ID. Tickets available at www.ticketweb.com, Chop Suey, Hidmo Eritrean Cuisine, Sonicboom Records and Cellphane Square.
