Abyssinian Creole

Abyssinian Creole
Abyssinian Creole consists of MCs Gabriel Teodros and Khingz, DJ WD4D, and producer Kitone. The significance of the name Abyssinian Creole comes from the bridging of “the oldest African nation to the newest African tongue” and references the lyricists’ Ethiopian, Eritrean, Haitian, and Dominican roots. The group, which formed in 2001, has performed in numerous locations, including Seattle, the Bay Area, Vancouver B.C., and Brooklyn. They have shared stages with Black Starr, KRS-One, Hieroglyphics, Fishbone, Dead Prez, Digable Planets, GZA/Genius, The Pharcyde, Aceyalone & Abstract Rude, Immortal Technique, and Zap Mama. Their full length album Sexy Beast was only the beginning. They have completed recording two more projects, and several solo records.
